STOLEN VEHICLE REGISTER
WHAT IS IT?
Across Australia, a vehicle is stolen every 13 minutes and over 39,000 passenger & light commercial vehicles were reported stolen in 2020.
The stolen vehicle register is a database of all Police stolen vehicle reports loaded against the eight Australian state and territory jurisdictions. This collated information is held centrally in the National Exchange of Vehicle and Driver Information System (NEVDIS).
InfoAgent can provide real-time access to see if any registered vehicle in Australia has been reported stolen.
Not only can we tell you if a vehicle has been reported stolen, but we can also provide further detailed information, such as the date it was reported stolen, the state or jurisdiction and the Police reference number. This assists any further investigation required to address the situation.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
A simple query to check if a vehicle has been reported stolen could save you thousands of dollars in the long run. Whether you’re looking to buy or trade a vehicle, provide insurance cover or finance to purchase a vehicle, or perform significant repairs, you will first want to check the vehicle is not stolen. Otherwise, the vehicle could be repossessed by Police regardless of who owns it now.
